Competitive Analysis

Persona

Journey Map

I conducted user interviews with frequent flyers, including international students, experienced travelers, and travel industry professionals, to investigate the issue of baggage loss. These interviews focused on their airport experiences, particularly any incidents of baggage loss or delay, to uncover their perceptions and requirements.

I analyzed various relevant products and their features to understand market trends

Through competitive analysis, I discovered a gap in integrated baggage management services. In response, COVER B aims to offer an all-in-one service for baggage, including real-time tracking and lost baggage reporting. This allows travelers to fully focus on their journey.

Developed a basic user persona to make sure our product always meets customer needs from start to finish.

The journey map, outlining user goals, actions, and emotions at each stage, helps create an engaging experience by identifying pain points and opportunities.

DESIGN

Information Architecture

1. The COVER B has arrived

3. Cover the baggage with the COVER B

2. Prepare the COVER B and the baggage

4. Connect the COVER B to the App

To effectively realize COVER B's cover products, I developed and tested several prototypes through iterative mockups.

COVER B's cover products

To create a user interface that is easy for users to understand and use, I revised the wireframes multiple times. This process was crucial in creating a clearer layout and solving problems at an early stage. By doing this, I ensured that the final product closely matched the users' needs.

I developed scenarios to illustrate the comprehensive usage and process flow of the product.

User Testing

Based on initial user feedback, I made adjustments to typography, color, and button shapes to enhance design consistency.

01. Connect your COVER B

02. Add your Baggage Info

03. File a claim for loss

04. Tracking the baggage location in real-time

Clarify the connections if you have multiple COVER B products: Users were having difficulties connecting multiple COVER B devices. To address this, I redesigned the interface to display all connected devices in a single list, making it easier for users to manage their devices.

Tracking the baggage location in real-time for each COVER B connected: Users reported difficulty in identifying and tracking multiple COVER B devices. To resolve this, I implemented a feature that displays a picture of each baggage at the top of the screen, allowing users to easily access and track each individual device.

Takeaways

I had the opportunity to delve into IoT product design and propose solutions to real-world problems during this project, which I found particularly stimulating and sparked my interest in product design. I aim to create more technology-based prototypes in the future.

Throughout the project, I examined various user scenarios for the first time. As a result, I realized that a lack of context could lead to confusion. To address this issue, I categorized each user scenario and provided contextual functionality on each screen. I discovered that maintaining a consistent interface for each feature and state is crucial for an effective user interface.
